Pages is what I began writing with, but have had trouble with formatting when trying to convert to a word or upub file. I tried Scrivener for a while, and liked it but found it distracting as I was trying to use some of the features that don't really fit my writing style. Right now I have one novelette all typed on three platforms: Pages, Scrivener (my subscription expired) and Word.) I'm still playing with which platform I like best, but right now I'm in a bit of a mess, as I've done different edits to the same story on all 3 platforms. I'd advice picking and sticking with one program until you complete a project! Fictionary does sound interesting...

Thanks for all this information, Addey!
