I've reread stuff I wrote 5 years ago and wondered if it was even me who wrote it, as I had no memory of it! Rushing to publish is the biggest reason I miss typos. Leaving a piece for a bit really does help to see it more clearly, but we don't always have that option. Being able to edit after publishing seems like a bonus to me!
