…t actually provide you with a takeaway, not read about someone who has been killed over a takeaway. That’s the one thing I like about Medium — it’s a very professional place to write with hardly any fiction to be found and many publications do not accept fictional writing because it doesn’t really spur any income and potentially I’m not the only one who finds them boring.

As you said, each to his own. I think fiction is a great escape and enriches life in many ways. I will keep both reading and writing it.
They say good writing elicits emotions, so you did well with this one. First, when you described fiction as boring, I bristled - but then I laughed. ;)
